Flooding Ravages Central Texas
Severe storms struck Central Texas on July 4, causing rapid river swelling and flash floods across Gillespie, Kerr, and Kendall counties. The Texas Hill Country region experienced rainfall totals exceeding 10 inches in some areas, leading to widespread evacuations, road closures, and extensive property damage.
Heartfield was reported missing on July 5 after his vehicle was found abandoned near a low-water crossing south of Comfort, Texas. According to the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, he was last seen attempting to navigate rising waters while returning from a holiday weekend camping trip with friends.
