Mass Casualty Incident Reported Outside Hollywood Nightclub

LOS ANGELES — A chaotic scene unfolded early Saturday morning as a man was found shot after allegedly driving his car into a crowd outside a popular nightclub in Hollywood, injuring at least 30 people, according to Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officials.

The incident occurred shortly after 1 a.m. local time on July 19, 2025, outside the Eclipse Lounge, located near Sunset Boulevard and Vine Street. Witnesses reported panic as a silver sedan accelerated toward a group of patrons gathered on the sidewalk, striking dozens before coming to a stop.

Suspect Found Shot at Scene

Authorities said the driver, an unidentified adult male, was found at the scene suffering from a gunshot wound. The LAPD is investigating whether the gunshot was self-inflicted, fired by security personnel, or bystanders. The suspect was transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and remains in critical condition. No arrests have been made as of Saturday morning.

30 Victims Hospitalized

Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson Margaret Stewart confirmed 30 individuals sustained injuries ranging from minor to critical, with five listed in serious condition. Victims were transported to area hospitals, including Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles.

Investigation Underway

LAPD Chief Michel Moore stated, "We are conducting a full investigation into the motive behind this attack and the circumstances that led to the shooting of the suspect." Detectives are reviewing security footage and interviewing witnesses. The area around Eclipse Lounge remains cordoned off as authorities collect evidence.
